Wooden toys are gaining increasing popularity among parents and children alike, thanks to their exceptional tactile feel and educational benefits. However, wooden toys are prone to discoloration and mold growth in humid environments.

Wooden toys do not require frequent cleaning. To clean them, first wipe the surface with a clean gauze cloth or handkerchief dampened with 75% alcohol, 3% cresol solution, or 5% bleach solution; then dry thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth.

Alternatively, you may disinfect and sanitize wooden toys by wiping them with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Rest assured—the vinegar odor dissipates quickly after wiping and will not linger.

Generally, wooden toys should not be washed with water. However, if the toy has a waterproof (immersion) lacquer finish, you may gently wipe its surface with a clean gauze cloth or handkerchief dampened with baby-bottle cleaning solution, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water, then pat dry with a clean gauze cloth or handkerchief. Finally, place each toy separately to air-dry.

1. When cleaning and air-drying wooden toys, periodically turn them over to ensure all sides dry evenly and thoroughly.

2. High-quality wooden toys are both durable and safe, and require minimal maintenance. Over time, prolonged exposure may cause wood to yellow slightly—simply lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper to restore its original appearance.
