On January 12, following the conclusion of the 50th Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair—a four-day event—wooden toy enterprises from Yunhe County returned home with abundant achievements. Unlike previous years, this year’s first delegation to “go global” for exhibition participation was led by Li Zhongwei, Secretary of the CPC Yunhe County Committee. This high-level leadership not only bolstered enterprises’ confidence in seizing overseas markets but also injected strong momentum into Yunhe County’s “dual recruitment and attraction” (talent and investment) initiatives for the new year.

According to the head of Yunhe County’s Department of Commerce and Economy, participating enterprises included Zhejiang Xinyun Wood Industry Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jinma Arts & Crafts Co., Ltd., Yunhe Lülin Early Childhood Education Toys & Equipment Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Kemiqi Arts & Crafts Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Guanyi Toys Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Zhimu Toys Co., Ltd., and nine other enterprises—totaling 11 exhibitors—alongside several additional companies attending as observers.

“Our participation yielded significant results: we engaged in face-to-face discussions with numerous long-standing clients and also established connections with many new prospects. Over the four days, we collected over 100 qualified leads, with projected orders exceeding RMB 3 million,” said the representative of Zhejiang Youbeier Toys Co., Ltd., expressing great enthusiasm.

Of course, Youbeier was not the only enterprise to reap substantial benefits from the Hong Kong trip. On the afternoon of January 10, Hongteng Wooden Toys Exhibition Hall of Yunhe County signed a “Strategic Cooperation Intent Agreement for the Hong Kong–Yunhe County Wooden Toys Exhibition Hall” with Hong Kong Chuangsheng Education Institute Limited—providing robust support for expanding Yunhe wooden toys into global markets.

“Secretary Li’s personal leadership and encouragement greatly reinforced our confidence in government support for private-sector development. We are fully confident that our company will achieve even greater growth this year,” remarked the representative of Zhejiang Jinma Arts & Crafts Co., Ltd.

In fact, this outward-bound exhibition initiative represents just one facet of Yunhe County’s broader strategy to globalize its wooden toy industry. In recent years, amid mounting domestic and international macroeconomic challenges, Yunhe County has accelerated optimization of its traditional wooden toy industrial structure—shifting from an extensive, scale-driven, full-industry-chain model toward an intensive, quality- and efficiency-focused development path. Simultaneously, the county has innovatively adopted new investment attraction models—including industrial chain–based and fund-based investment promotion—to attract industry leaders, flagship enterprises, and headquarters-based companies, thereby enhancing the efficient allocation of resources and continuously strengthening corporate profitability and international competitiveness. To date, three major projects have been secured—including HABA’s Asia wooden toy assembly production line—with total investments amounting to RMB 329 million.

Notably, during this toy fair, Yunhe County collaborated with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) to install promotional lightboxes featuring “Yunhe Wooden Toys” at multiple locations within the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Additionally, unified “Yunhe Wooden Toys” branding was applied across all participating enterprises’ booths—further elevating regional brand awareness.

“When enterprises ‘go global’ to attend exhibitions, they gain firsthand insights into cutting-edge market trends, identify gaps, address weaknesses, and ultimately achieve higher-quality growth. As the industry’s regulatory authority, we will proactively adjust and introduce targeted supportive policies based on enterprises’ evolving needs—providing platforms and facilitating opportunities so that businesses can run faster and farther, with strong governmental backing,” stated the head of Yunhe County’s Department of Commerce and Economy.
